In the spring of 2085, Jack Stephens, a senior homicide detective and twenty-nine-year veteran of the Richmond Police Department, is looking forward to retirement when a series of grisly murders shatters his plans. Night after night, young women are brutally murdered. The killer even tries to kill Jack’s wife, hoping to throw him off the case, but nothing is further from the truth.

Swearing vengeance, Jack throws aside the rules of justice, focusing his rage on finding the killer and putting them in the ground. As Jack closes in, he discovers the killer is closer than he could ever imagine. The investigation will have Jack questioning how well he knew his wife, if he can trust his department, and why a government agency would want to hide the murders.
